TERMS & CONDITIONS
These terms and conditions apply to our schools in London, Hastings and Cape Town.
Application Process
Enrolment documents will be issued upon receipt of the completed Application Form. Payment of a deposit for direct students is required in case of cancellation. Please read the booking and cancellation policies and/or check with the school for more information on deposit policy.
The original enrolment documents may be mailed, faxed, emailed, or sent by courier upon request. If courier delivery is requested, an extra charge will be added to the student's invoice (from £60).
Deposits
- Deposits are to cover costs incurred if a student cancels their course before arrival.
- Course only - £55 deposit, payable by bank transfer, credit card or cash
- Course and accommodation - £110 deposit, payable by bank transfer, credit card or cash.
Course Cancellation
If a student cancels their course a minimum of 1 week before arrival they will be charged cancellation fee as follows:
- Course only - £55
- Course and accommodation - £110
- (This money will have already have been paid as a deposit directly to the school or to a local agent working with Shane Global Language Centres UK)
- If a student cancels their course after arrival there is no refund under any circumstances
Accommodation Cancellation
- If accommodation has been booked and the student cancels less than 1 full week before arrival, the student will be charged as above plus the cost of 1 week’s accommodation fees (as published in the price list)
- If accommodation is cancelled after a student has arrived, one week’s notice must be given, or a one week accommodation charge paid.
- If a student requests to change accommodation an additional accommodation finding fee may be charged.
- If a student decides to leave accommodation the school has arranged and wants money he or she has paid to the school refunded, this will be possible for those weeks remaining, provided that at least one week’s notice is given.
Underage Students
- Students under the age of 18 years must have application co-signed by his/her parent or legal guardian.
- Underage students will be required to submit underage agreements signed by their parents. Custodianship may also need to be arranged.
- We do not accept students under 16 at the London school.
- Students aged 14-16 can study at Hastings school only during the specified dates for the Teenage Activity Programme.
Payment & Visas
Students may be required to pre-pay tuition fees when applying for student visas. Check with school and local consulate/embassy on payment methods and any other requirements. Payment must be RECEIVED by Shane Global Language Centres a minimum of 5 working days before the student arrives. Students cannot pay on arrival.
Payment may be made by:
- credit card (3% surcharge applies)
- wire transfer
- money order
- bank draft.
- The student is responsible for paying any additional bank charges that apply.
- Student visas may take 2 months or more to process, so please calculate your course dates accordingly.
Holiday Allowance
Students wishing to take a holiday and during their period of study make take 2 weeks. This should be requested in their original application. Students may not request a holiday once the course has commenced.
Changes & Availability
- Shane Global Language Centres may change Start dates, programmes and course content may at any time and without prior notice.
- The fees, dates and conditions listed in this website and in our brochures are subject to change at any time and without prior notice.
- All courses are available based on enrolment numbers.
- Students wishing to change to another Shane Global Language Centres school during their stay will be charged a transfer fee of £55.
Property & Injury
Shane Global and its member schools accept no responsibility whatsoever for any loss or damage to the personal belongings or property of a student or programme participant or for any injury to or death of a student or programme participant occurring on or off school property.
Rules
Students must comply with the rules of the school. Failure to do so may result in a student being expelled. Please contact school for refunds in case of dismissal. If non-EU students are expelled from the school, Shane Global are required by law to inform the Home Office that the student is no longer attending classes.
Directors must receive a written description of all complaints. Please check with the school regarding a complaint resolution procedure.
Travel & Medical Insurance
Sufficient medical insurance must be obtained by the student before arrival. Shane Global cannot provide insurance for students.

Shane Global Language Centres or its member schools do not take responsibility for any misinformation found in third party materials.
