Our London Teachers
Bee GoviHaving worked for ten years as a residential social worker for people with learning difficulties, Bee decided to make use of her degree in Latin American Spanish and Education and pursue a career in teaching abroad. Mixed with the pleasure of learning different languages, discovering new cultures and travelling, Bee undertook the RSA Cert TEFLA at International House Piccadilly, London back in 1995 (from which the CELTA evolved) and set off on her ventures. She has had the opportunity of living and working abroad, spending time in various parts of: Europe, Central & South America and of course, London. Here, the DELTA followed in 2004 and Bee worked for many years in FE teaching EFL, ESOL, managing and co-ordinating Summer Schools and the Social programmes as well as being the main tutor for international students. Three years later she humbly had the pleasure of shadowing two experts in the field of ELT and was trained up to train new EFL/ESOL teachers in the making. Currently, as well as teacher training she still continues to teach EFL in the classroom, as both fields are fulfilling, stimulating and rewarding. She has been with Saxoncourt/Shane since 2008. When not in the classroom Bee enjoys composing and singing songs on her old guitar and pub piano and performs in small open-mic venues or enjoys the odd jam with her work colleagues in rehearsal studios. |
Rick AnsellHe fell into teaching after graduating and then fell in love with it. After doing the RSA Prep Cert from which the CELTA eventually evolved he set off seek his fortune. The fortune never quite materialised but he enjoyed living and working abroad, spending time in Europe, the Middle East and South America. Eventually the call of home grew loud and he returned to England in 1992 and spent a year being trained to train new teachers. For almost 20 years now he has been running CELTA Courses but also keeping his hand in the classroom and he still loves the work. He has been with Shane/Saxoncourt since 2000. When not in the classroom he spends his time running and mountaineering. He is a keen but sadly increasingly less competitive fell runner and when family commitments allow enjoys trips to the greater ranges for low grade but high altitude ascents. |

Our Hastings Teachers
Frederique WildingI first started teaching English to teenagers whilst at university. I graduated in French, Law and Politics in 1990 and soon after did my first teaching qualification at International House Hastings. I went on to do a number of contracts teaching Business English in the UK and France. In 1992, I packed my bags and went travelling around South America. After visiting most of the Spanish speaking countries, I ended up in Brazil where I taught English at International House, Goiania. I stayed in Brazil for a number of years, teaching mostly liberal professionals such as doctors, dentists and lawyers as well as courses for government officials in Brasilia. Eventually I felt a need to return to the UK and in 2004 started teaching at Shane Global. After completing the DELTA (a higher level teaching qualification), I was promoted to the position of Director of Studies in 2006. In a quest for more qualifications, in 2008 I started training to teach Modern Foreign Languages at Claverham College in Battle. After 18 months I was awarded Qualified Teacher Status. This was one of the most demanding courses I have ever done! Outside the school I have a busy life as a mother of two young girls. When I can, I like to go jogging along Bexhill seafront and practise yoga daily. I love the arts and try to sample ‘big city’ culture whenever possible! I still have thirst for a bit of adventure and I have plans to go crowd- watching in India, hiking in Nepal, animal watching in Botswana, hot-air ballooning in Cappadocia and relaxing in Bora Bora ! For the moment I am consigned to arm chair travelling! |
Oliver RomeroI started teaching English in 1992. I’ve taught in Spain, Thailand, India and now here in England (I’ve always had itchy feet). Hobbies, when I have time I like a good game of squash and just chilling out at home watching a good movie and if I have even more time reading, specially on holidays. I gained my teacher’s qualification in 2008 and now I’m doing a degree in Modern languages (English and Spanish). I hope you learn a lot of English at Shane Global and have a great time, too!! |
